How to prepare for your vacation in 10 steps?

Everyone's favorite time of year is coming—the vacation and holiday season. This year may be a little different due to the virus, but almost everyone dreams of getting away somewhere after a period of isolation. Whether it's for a weekend or a few weeks, the rules remain the same.

How to prepare for it wisely?

1. First of all, you should choose… the place you want to go 🙂 There are not many restrictions here, except perhaps your budget, but even that is not always the case.

2. Prepare a list of things you plan to take with you.

For me, preparing such a list takes at least a week. Why? Every day I remember another important thing to take with me. Within a few days, the list becomes complete. And I don't despair when I find out on my trip that I don't have something that is a must-have.

3. Check if and how long your ID is valid.

An ID card is sufficient for traveling to Schengen countries. In other countries, you need a passport.

You will not be allowed to enter countries that require a passport if your passport is valid for less than 6 months.

Also check the validity of your payment cards and discount cards.

Remember to keep all personal documents such as your ID card, passport, tickets, payment cards, and ID cards in your hand luggage when traveling. You can use our covers and cases to store them.

4. Take care of your physical condition, especially if you are planning a very active vacation, such as hiking in the mountains. Muscle soreness can effectively ruin your plans, and you are not going on vacation to suffer 🙂

5. Look for tickets, preferably cheap ones. You can find them on many platforms, e.g., fly4free.pl, tanie-loty.com.pl, kayak.pl, fru.pl.

6. Book your accommodation. Here, too, there is a huge selection of comparison engines and portals with offers. We will only mention the most popular one: Airbnb.pl

7. Find out how high the prices are at your destination so that you can plan your budget accordingly.

8. Do some research on what you really need to see and what you can safely skip. To some extent, this will be related to point 7.

9. Purchase an insurance policy. Polish citizens are issued a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) free of charge. It can be ordered online and picked up at the provincial office of the National Health Fund. This card entitles you to medical assistance in European Union member states. However, it only works to a limited and very basic extent. For example, it does not cover personal liability claims. Therefore, it is worth purchasing an additional insurance policy from one of the many insurers on the market.

10. Pack your backpack or suitcase. Remember that you will gain more space by rolling your clothes instead of folding them. Also, remember to use natural empty spaces for small items, e.g., put socks in your shoes. And protect your shoes with a suitable two-compartment bag. They will repay you with their good looks for years to come. Especially the patent leather, richly decorated, or light-colored ones.

Fans of spontaneous trips will certainly consider most of the above points unnecessary.

We wish both planners and spontaneous travelers unforgettable experiences, lots of attractions, and a wonderful vacation!
